Welcome to Jack Godfrey Honeylands Support Fund website!

A change is as good as a rest!

Dave and JackHello and welcome to our new look website, we hope you like the new features. We have, of course kept most of the old ones. It is often said that "a change is as good as a rest". Well I don't know if that old saying applies to Jack's website though.

Yes we have made changes but not to gain rest, it's more the need to move forward and not to rest on what has been done and achieved before in the name of Honeylands and I would like to thank Jacks dad Adam for the tremendous amount of work, time and effort he has put in to making this website what it is today, a doorway to Honeylands Children's Centre, Exeter.

or all of us now in 2008 we face trials and tribulations, especially those who like Adam and I, do our best in whatever way we can to support the children and staff that help to care for them. I think especially of the League of Friends of Honeylands who work tirelessly to fundraise and support Honeylands and the children.

The words 'Credit Crunch' has hit home hard to the public of this country as we all struggle to make ends meet week by week, and it has hit doubly hard the many charities and organisations up and down the country who see the amount of support start to dwindle and in some cases dry up completely as those same members of the public have to watch pennies and pounds, and who can blame them for having to do so.

As a support group for Honeylands we are tremendously grateful for the huge amount of support we have been given by so many kind hearted and wonderful people, who have given pennies and pounds gradually and steadily over the past two or three years to bring us to where we are today on our little thermometer on our website shows.

I have no doubt at all that the next two or three years will have its difficulties and challenges and sometimes it will seem that we have come to a dead stop in the water, which will undoubtedly happen, but we will use that time of quietness, not to sit back and rest but to regroup, rethink strategies, to do what is best for these wonderful caring people and those equally wonderful children, those jewels who sparkle and bring joy to their families day by day.

Adam, I and our family give you all, our heartfelt thanks for your support and we know that if and when you are able to help, we know in our hearts that that is what you will do.

As we all have done in the good times smiled and laughed, now in the bad times we face, please try to keep on smiling, and I know that will be so hard at times, and if you struggle to do that, stop for a while here on Jacks website, let his own smile reach out to you and shed some light into your heart to brighten your day.

With love.

David

Golf Day Competition Results

What a great day we had on Friday the 8th of June as the second annual Jack Godfrey memorial shield golf competition took place. This year Teign Valley Hotel & golf club was our chosen venue, I would like to give a big thank you to Carolyn and her team at Teign Valley for the wonderful support they have given me in this year’s competition. The meal afterward was superb, as was the weather to match. This is a venue I would certainly wish to come back to again. The team entries have...Read More

Art Auction 2007 The final result

Written by: on 14th April 2007

ART AUCTION - THE FINAL UPDATE There is a saying which goes ‘every picture tells a story’ and how so true that has been, as we have seen this art auction unfold for the crusade for Honeylands Children’s centre in Jacks memory, for his picture too tells a story, of love and care and in that picture of Jack there is also compassion from the heart of Honeylands. I am in awe at the response and dedication of so many wonderful people who have done so much for us at this time, and I would wish...Read More
