News from Honeylands in this edition is good, bad and sad, so let's mention the good to start with, which of course is about the garden party, but this is not any old garden party because God forbid it might well be the last one we shall see. You can read why I say that in my blog and on the front page.
The weather was fantastic on the day, so good in fact that it may well have sent some of our visitors to the beach for some sun sea and Shangri-La, but having said that we had a really good turnout which resulted in a good response from the sales on our stalls, so well done to everyone who helped on the day to make it special for all of us. The ice cream man was doing a good trade as was the barbeque, to which I eventually found myself heading to when I finally got there from work.
It was good to see the displays from the majorettes and the other displays put on my young people which all added to the fun on the day.
THE BAD AND SAD NEWS
I struggle to write this piece because of the emotions I am feeling, of anger, frustration and sadness at the news which has been coming out from the PCT and DCC, catastrophic and unbelievable in the extreme. Councilors of Devon County Council you should be ashamed of being party to such an idiotic plan that wants to remove respite from Honeylands.
